Jann of the Jungle
Jann of the Jungle is a jungle adventurer who originated in the Atlas Comics era before being reprinted in Marvel's Bronze Age anthology Jungle Action #1. A capable, self-reliant heroine, she navigates wild, dangerous environments in the classic pulp tradition.
Long before the Bronze Age gave Marvel its grittier edge, Jann of the Jungle was already blazing a trail β a jungle adventurer whose roots actually stretch back to the Atlas Comics era, with Don Rico and Joe Maneely among her original architects. Her 1972 appearance in Jungle Action #1 brought her into the Bronze Age alongside a vivid cast including Lorna the Jungle Girl, Tharn, and Mikki, making that issue a wonderful snapshot of Marvel's pulpy, action-packed heritage. She's a rare figure whose presence in What If? alongside her Jungle Action appearances hints at a character compelling enough to revisit across very different storytelling contexts. With only a handful of catalog appearances, tracking her down is a genuine collector's quest β the kind of deep-cut discovery that reminds you just how wide and wild the Marvel universe truly is.
