James McDonald

James McDonald is a founding member of Team America, a group of professional motorcycle stunt riders in Marvel's early 1980s series. He debuted alongside teammates Honcho, Wolf, and others as part of this daredevil motorsports ensemble.

A Bronze Age Marvel creation who rode onto the scene in 1982, James McDonald is one of the founding faces of Team America, the short-lived but spirited series that gave Marvel's daredevil motorsports corner of the universe its moment in the spotlight. Debuting in Team America #1 under the watchful eyes of Jim Shooter, Ed Hannigan, and Mike Vosburg, he shares his pages with a colorful cast including Honcho, Wolf, Marauder, and the memorably named R.U. Reddy and Winthrop Roan Jr. With only a dozen catalog appearances concentrated in that 1982–83 window, McDonald is a genuine Bronze Age curiosity — the kind of character that rewards the collector who digs past the obvious runs and finds something authentically of its era.
