Headpool

Headpool is the zombified, severed head of an alternate-universe Deadpool — a wisecracking undead skull still wearing the iconic red-and-black mask. Hailing from the Marvel Zombies universe, he retains Deadpool's irreverent personality despite lacking, well, a body.

A severed zombified head with a Deadpool mask and absolutely no chill, Headpool crashed into the Modern Age in 2009 courtesy of Fred Van Lente and Kev Walker in Marvel Zombies 4 #1 — one of the more gloriously unhinged debut concepts Marvel has ever greenlit. This undead oddity carved out a niche across Marvel Zombies 4, Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth, and Deadpool Corps, sharing chaotic panel space with the likes of Wade Wilson, Lady Deadpool, Wanda Wilson, and Daimon Hellstrom. With only 17 catalog appearances, Headpool is a delightfully concentrated dose of Marvel's early-2010s anything-goes energy — rare enough to feel like a find, weird enough to never be forgotten.
