Who is Gypsy Moth?

Gypsy Moth is a Marvel villain with the ability to psionically control silk, fabric, and other soft materials, allowing her to use them as weapons or to fly. She first clashed with Spider-Woman and later tangled with Captain America and other heroes.

Emerging from the fertile Bronze Age of Marvel Comics, Gypsy Moth made her debut in Spider-Woman #10 in 1979, brought to life by the accomplished Sal Buscema. Over a span of more than three decades, she wove her way through some of Marvel's most compelling corners, crossing paths with luminaries like Spider-Woman, Steve Rogers, and Jack Russell across titles including Captain America and the landmark Marvel Super Hero Contest of Champions. Her appearances may be select rather than sprawling, but that relative rarity only sharpens the reward for collectors who track her down β€” a distinctive Bronze Age original with a wonderfully evocative name that lingers in the memory long after the longbox is closed.
