Who is Guardião?

Guardião is the Brazilian Portuguese edition of Guardian, the armored Canadian superhero and leader of Alpha Flight. Wearing a battlesuit that harnesses geomagnetic forces, he leads Canada's premier super-team alongside teammates including Sasquatch and Shaman.

Guardião made their comics debut in 1985 — deep in the Bronze Age — within the pages of Superaventuras Marvel, the beloved Brazilian Marvel imprint from Editora Abril, brought to life by the combined talents of John Byrne and João Paulo Martins. Over a publishing span stretching nearly two decades, this character carved out a presence across Superaventuras Marvel and Colecção Wolverine, sharing pages with a remarkable roster that includes James Hudson, Scott Summers, Sasquatch, Shaman, and Kurt Wagner — serious company by any measure. It's a testament to the rich, distinctly Brazilian Marvel publishing tradition that Guardião endures as a piece of that history, a character worth seeking out for collectors with an eye for the international side of the Marvel universe.
