Who is Fearless Fosdick?

Fearless Fosdick is a satirical comic-strip parody of Dick Tracy, originally created by Al Capp for his Li'l Abner newspaper strip. The hilariously indestructible, bullet-riddled police detective became a pop-culture icon, eventually crossing into DC Comics appearances alongside Superman and other heroes.

Fearless Fosdick burst onto the page in 1954, a Golden Age creation whose satirical swagger has kept collectors and fans returning across an impressive 65-year publishing span. Turning up in the pages of The American Legion, World's Finest Comics, and Mazie, this character moves in remarkable company — sharing adventures with the likes of Clark Kent, Superman, Lois Lane, and the wonderfully named Anyface and Binky Biggs. With two key issues among their 45 catalogued appearances, Fosdick is a genuinely collectible corner of comics history, the kind of character that rewards the curious fan who digs a little deeper into the medium's rich, wide-ranging past.
