Mazie

Al Capp and Paul McCarthy brought the wisecracking but good-hearted Mazie Dean to life in this 15-issue Harvey Comics series from the mid-1950s. Running from 1955 to 1958, the strip centered on Mazie's small-town adventures and romantic entanglements, often alongside her friends Stevie and Jeanie, while also providing a showcase for Capp's iconic satirical creation, Fearless Fosdick. Though short-lived, the series is a notable example of Capp's post-Li'l Abner comedic sensibility applied to a younger, more domestic setting.
