Elsie-Dee
Elsie-Dee is a small, childlike android created as a trap for Wolverine — designed to look innocent so he would hesitate before her self-destruct mechanism killed him. Her unexpectedly high-level intelligence, however, gave her genuine sentience and a will of her own.
Few characters make a first impression quite like Elsie-Dee, who burst onto the Marvel scene in Wolverine #42 in 1991, courtesy of the legendary team of Larry Hama and Marc Silvestri. A product of the Copper/Modern Age, she's carved out a genuinely unique corner of the Marvel Universe, sharing pages with a remarkable cast that includes Albert, Jubilee, and even Sabretooth. The fact that she's endured in the catalog all the way through 2024 — turning up across Wolverine, Dark X-Men, and even the All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z — speaks to the lasting impression this singular character left on readers lucky enough to encounter her.
