Devlin Waugh
Devlin Waugh is a flamboyant, witty Vatican secret agent and exorcist who first appeared in the British anthology Judge Dredd Megazine in 1992. Combining high camp with supernatural expertise, he operates in the world of 2000 AD tackling demonic and paranormal threats on behalf of the Holy See.
Debuting in the very first issue of Judge Dredd the Megazine back in 1992, Devlin Waugh is one of the most distinctive and enduring creations to emerge from the Rebellion stable β a character born at the dawn of the Modern Age and still going strong more than three decades later. Conjured up by the legendary John Wagner and Yan Shimony, Waugh has carved out a singular niche across the pages of 2000 AD and the Megazine, sharing that gloriously anarchic universe with the likes of Joe Dredd, Psi Judge Anderson, and the delightfully sinister Finnigan Sinister. With 82 appearances spanning 33 years and a key issue already to his name, he's no footnote β he's a genuine cult treasure of British comics, the kind of character that rewards the curious reader who digs a little deeper into the rich world beyond Mega-City One.
