Who is Devastator?

Devastator is the massive Decepticon combiner formed by merging the six Constructicons — Scrapper, Scavenger, Mixmaster, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, and Hook — into a single unstoppable warrior, serving as one of the most formidable heavy hitters in the Decepticon army.

Stepping out of the Dreamwave Productions era of the early 2000s, Devastator made their Modern Age debut in Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #2 (2003), entering a universe already crackling with heavy hitters like Galvatron, Fortress Maximus, Snarl, and Frenzy. Though their catalog footprint is compact — spread across the Transformers Generation One and official guidebook titles that defined Dreamwave's ambitious Transformers revival — there's something undeniably compelling about a character who shares pages with that caliber of iconic machinery. For collectors with a soft spot for that brief, passionate Dreamwave chapter of Transformers comics history, Devastator is a worthwhile piece of the puzzle.
