Who is Danny the Street?
Few comic creations are as gloriously, defiantly singular as Danny the Street — a sentient, teleporting thoroughfare who wandered into Grant Morrison and Richard Case's boundary-smashing Doom Patrol run in 1990 and promptly became one of DC's most beloved oddities. Born at the dawn of comics' Modern Age, Danny shares adventures with the likes of Cliff Steele, Negative Man, and Larry Trainor in a series already legendary for embracing the strange and the subversive. With only a handful of catalog appearances, Danny is a rare find — a character whose impact vastly outweighs their page count, and a perfect emblem of why Morrison's Doom Patrol era remains essential reading for anyone who loves comics at their most imaginatively unhinged.
