Cutlass

Cutting onto the scene in 1993's Shadowhawk #4 — courtesy of Image Comics pioneer Jim Valentino — Cutlass arrived right at the exciting early frontier of the Image revolution, when bold new characters were being forged at a breakneck pace. This Copper/Modern Age figure carved out appearances across Shadowhawk, Shadowhawk II, and The Pact, keeping vivid company with the likes of Blacklight, Ted Cleaver, and Bobby Sterling. With only eight catalog appearances, Cutlass is a compact, intriguing piece of early Image history — the kind of character that rewards the dedicated collector willing to dig into those kinetic, anything-goes early-'90s issues.
