Shadowhawk

Jim Valentino's Shadowhawk launched as an early Image Comics title in 1992, running five issues through 1993. The series introduced a vigilante antihero whose armor and tactics were driven by a deeply personal, tragic motivation, with Valentino handling both writing and art. It featured a cast including Lieutenant Lou Jacks, Paul Johnstone, Erika Richmond, Christina Ried, and Infiniti, grounding the super-powered action in a more street-level, character-focused narrative. As one of Image's foundational creator-owned books, it helped define the publisher's early emphasis on dark, independent superhero storytelling.
