Who is Corsaire?

Corsaire is the French-language edition name for Corsair (Christopher Summers), a former U.S. Air Force pilot who was abducted by the Shi'ar and became a roguish space pirate leading the Starjammers — and is secretly the father of X-Men Cyclops and Havok.

A swashbuckling figure who sailed into French-language Marvel comics courtesy of Editions Lug in 1985, Corsaire made their Bronze Age debut in the pages of Spécial Strange — brought to life by the legendary creative team of Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum, and Bob Wiacek. Over a remarkable span stretching to 2021, this character carved out a presence across Spécial Strange, X-Men Extra, and Titans, keeping thrilling company with the likes of Tornade, Logan, Ororo Munroe, and Hepzibah. Seventeen appearances may sound modest, but for collectors of Editions Lug's distinctive corner of the Marvel universe, Corsaire represents exactly the kind of find that makes digging through French Bronze Age runs so rewarding.
