Corruptus
Corruptus is a minor Roman character from the Asterix universe, appearing in the eleventh album. True to the series' satirical tradition, the name itself signals a comedic role as a corrupt official or functionary within the Roman administration opposing the indomitable Gauls.
A minor but memorable figure from the world of Asterix, Corruptus made their debut in 1972 — right in the heart of the Bronze Age — courtesy of the legendary creative partnership of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, with Gudrun Penndorf lending their hand to this particular edition. Published under the Egmont Ehapa banner and appearing across both the Asterix and Asterix Mundart series, this character keeps colorful company with the likes of Julius Cäsar, Prognostix, and Gaius Faulus. With one key-issue appearance to their name and a catalog presence stretching across more than five decades, Corruptus is a small but enduring thread in the rich, irreverent tapestry of one of comics' most beloved and longest-running series.
