Who is Bulma?

Bulma is a genius teenage inventor and adventurer from the Dragon Ball universe who first seeks the mystical Dragon Balls using her own Dragon Radar invention. Daughter of the brilliant Dr. Brief, she becomes a core ally to Son Goku throughout their world-spanning battles and journeys.

Bulma made her North American comics debut in 1999, stepping onto the page in Viz's English-language releases during the Copper/Modern Age and going on to share adventures across Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super — some of the most beloved manga series ever brought to Western readers. Over a span of more than two decades in the catalog, she keeps remarkable company, appearing alongside Son Goku, Vegeta IV, Kuririn, Kame-Sen'nin, and Oolong in stories that have defined generations of fans. With 23 appearances cataloged across that long stretch, she's a consistent presence in one of Viz's flagship franchises. If you're tracing the Dragon Ball universe through its English publication history, Bulma is absolutely a character worth following.
