Bird-Brain
Bird-Brain is a genetically engineered human-bird hybrid created by the villainous Ani-Mator on a remote island. Possessing wings and animal-like intelligence, he encountered the New Mutants and formed a bond with them, becoming an unlikely companion to the young team.
Half-avian oddity and Marvel curiosity, Bird-Brain fluttered onto the scene in The New Mutants #56 in 1987, conjured by the creative team of Louise Simonson and June Brigman during comics' Copper Age. Sharing pages with heavy-hitters like Illyana Rasputina, Rahne Sinclair, and Sam Guthrie, this peculiar creature found a home in one of Marvel's most beloved young-hero titles before later turning up in Nova. With only a handful of catalogued appearances, Bird-Brain is a genuine deep-cut collectible — the kind of wonderfully strange corner-case that reminds devoted fans just how wild and inventive the New Mutants era truly was.
