Who is Benny the Cab?

Benny the Cab is a fast-talking, wisecracking animated taxicab from Toontown who serves as a loyal companion and getaway driver for Roger Rabbit, inhabiting a world where cartoon Toons and live-action humans coexist in classic noir-tinged Hollywood.

Few characters capture the freewheeling, toon-meets-noir spirit of the late 1980s quite like Benny the Cab, who rolled onto the page in 1989's Marvel Graphic Novel: Roger Rabbit in the Resurrection of Doom, brought to life by creators Bob Foster, Dan Spiegle, and Todd Kurosawa. A product of that wonderfully inventive Copper/Modern Age moment when Disney and comics were finding exciting new ground together, Benny keeps the best possible company — sharing adventures with Roger Rabbit, the glamorous Jessica Rabbit, and the irrepressible Baby Herman across titles like Roger Rabbit and Disney Adventures. His appearances may be select, but every one of them is part of a genuinely beloved corner of Disney comics history that rewards any collector curious enough to track it down.
