About the series
In 1990 and 1991, Disney expanded the world of the blockbuster film Who Framed Roger Rabbit into an 18-issue comic series, a zany blend of noir mystery and cartoon slapstick. Writers Kate Worley, Martin Pasko, and Doug Rice, alongside artists like John Costanza, Anibal Uzal, and Rick Hoberg, sent Roger, Jessica, Baby Herman, and detective Rick Flint on original adventures through the Toontown-and-Hollywood landscape. The series deepened the film’s unique universe, balancing wisecracking gags with genuine character moments for its beloved cast, including Benny the Cab and C.B. Maroon. It remains a key artifact of Disney’s late-'80s/early-'90s publishing push, capturing the cross-medium charm that made the property a phenomenon.
