Baxter Stockman
Baxter Stockman is a brilliant but unscrupulous scientist who first menaces the Turtles in the original Mirage Comics series, deploying his invention — the Mousers, robot machines designed ostensibly for pest control — for far more sinister purposes.
Dreamed up by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and unleashed on readers in 1984's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2, Baxter Stockman is one of the earliest and most enduring villains in the TMNT universe — a Bronze Age original who has shared the page with Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, and April O'Neil across an remarkable four-decade span. His debut issue carries collector-significant key status, a testament to how foundational he is to the mythology Eastman and Laird built from the ground up at Mirage. Forty-plus years of appearances, from those scrappy black-and-white Mirage origins through TMNT: Journeys and beyond, speak for themselves — this is a character the franchise has never been able to leave behind.
