Azazel
Azazel is an ancient, demonic mutant with teleportation abilities who claims to be a Biblical fallen angel. He is the biological father of Nightcrawler, having seduced Kurt's mother Mystique centuries ago, and leads a group of mutant pirates called the Neyaphem.
Few Marvel debuts arrive with as much sinister intrigue as Azazel, who first materialized in The Uncanny X-Men #428 in 2003, conjured by writer Chuck Austen and artist Sean Phillips during the Modern Age. This enigmatic figure has since woven his way through some of Marvel's most charged corners — from the pages of Dark X-Men to Weapon X — keeping dangerous company alongside the likes of Nightcrawler, Havok, and Warren Worthington III. Remarkably, his presence has endured across more than two decades, and his dual affiliation with both the X-Men and Alpha Flight marks him as a character whose reach extends well beyond any single corner of the Marvel Universe. With 18 catalog appearances and a debut issue that collectors still talk about, Azazel is a Modern Age figure whose brooding mystique rewards anyone willing to seek him out.
