Who is Andar?

Andar is a young companion to Turok in Western Publishing's prehistoric adventure series Turok, Son of Stone, where the two are trapped in a hidden valley populated by dinosaurs and other ancient dangers, relying on their wits and primitive weapons to survive.

Few characters can claim a quarter-century of prehistoric adventure, but Andar has done exactly that — debuting in Four Color #596 in 1954, this Golden Age creation by Gaylord Du Bois and Rex Maxon became a fixture of Western Publishing's beloved dinosaur-era series. Andar's most enduring home is Turok, Son of Stone, where he shares the page with that iconic title character across a run that stretched all the way into 1979. A compact catalog presence with real staying power, Andar is a rewarding find for fans who love the sun-baked, lost-world flavor that made Western's adventure comics so distinctive.
