Which Villains Broke Out of Prison in Comics?

Comic books are practically built on daring prison breaks — it's a staple of the genre! Some of the most iconic jailbreaks include the Rogues (Captain Cold, Heat Wave, and crew) busting out of Iron Heights in The Flash; Magneto escaping various high-security mutant detention facilities across X-Men history; and the classic Marvel supervillain breakout in New Avengers #1, where a mass escape from the Raft (a maximum-security island prison) forces heroes to band together. Over at DC, Blackgate Penitentiary and Arkham Asylum are practically revolving doors — the Joker, Bane, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Two-Face have all escaped Arkham more times than anyone can count. Bane famously broke out and then broke Batman in Knightfall, while over in Marvel, the Thunderbolts and even the Kingpin have pulled off memorable exits from custody.
