Who Is Adam Strange?

Adam Strange is an Earth archaeologist who became the greatest hero of the alien planet Rann after being struck by a teleportation Zeta-Beam. He first appeared in Showcase #17 (1958), and unlike most heroes, he relies purely on his intellect, jetpack, and advanced Rannian technology rather than any innate superpowers. He's deeply tied to Rann through his love for Alanna, the daughter of scientist Sardeth — in fact, when Adam lost his eyes due to a failed Zeta-Beam attempt, Sardeth cloned new eyes for him using Alanna as the template donor. Over the decades Adam has been a key player in DC cosmic stories, appearing prominently in titles like Mystery in Space and later Planet Heist, 52, and Justice League Unlimited adaptations.
