Zippy Stories

From 1981 onward, Bill Griffith's Zippy Stories, published by And/Or Press, introduced the surreal, pinheaded everyman Zippy the Pinhead to the world. This single-issue series serves as the foundational launchpad for Griffith's decades-spanning, absurdist commentary on American pop culture and consumerism. A landmark of underground comix, it established the deadpan, zigzagging dialogue and off-kilter humor that would define one of the medium's most enduring and idiosyncratic characters.
