About the series
Alain Saint-Ogan's Zig et Puce (1927–1952) was a pioneering French comic series from Hachette, spanning 16 issues. Following the adventures of the mischievous boy Zig and his younger companion Puce, the strip introduced the iconic penguin Alfred, who became a beloved fixture of French pop culture. Saint-Ogan, the writer and artist behind the entire run, helped shape the language and visual style of early European comics, influencing generations of bande dessinée creators.
