Zap Comix

Robert Crumb’s Zap Comix launched in 1967 from Apex Novelties, a landmark underground series that helped define the counterculture comics movement. Over its first three issues, Crumb and artist Victor Moscoso unleashed a raw, psychedelic blend of satire, surrealism, and taboo-breaking imagery. The series became an essential touchstone for the underground comix scene, pushing boundaries of both content and artistic expression.
