Zany

Zany (1958–1959) was a four-issue humor comic from the short-lived Candar imprint, a publisher that specialized in offbeat, low-budget titles. The series featured a rotating roster of cartoonists, including Richard Doxsee, Dick Briefer, and Don Orehek, who contributed a mix of slapstick gags and absurdist comic strips. Though brief, Zany captures the tail end of the 1950s’ wild, experimental comedy comics, offering a glimpse into the work of Briefer—best known for his macabre Frankenstein series—in a lighter, more playful mode.
