About the series
In just two oversized, hallucinatory issues published by Dargaud in the mid-1970s, Philippe Druillet crafted Yragaël, a singular, operatic vision of a dying Earth ruled by a decadent techno-feudal order. Entirely written and illustrated by Druillet, the series is a landmark of French science-fiction comics, pushing the boundaries of the medium with its explosive, psychedelic page layouts and baroque, Wagnerian intensity. Though tragically brief, Yragaël remains a cult touchstone for its sheer, unfiltered creative ambition and its profound influence on the European "adult comics" movement.
