Young Master

From 1987 to 1989, New Comics Group published Young Master, a nine-issue series that blended martial arts action with superhero tropes. Writers Valarie Jones, Chuck Dixon, and Roger McKenzie crafted the stories, while artists Val Mayerik and Rick Bryant brought the kinetic combat and colorful characters to life. Though brief, the series stands as a distinctive late-80s example of independent comics' willingness to fuse genre influences.
