Yakari

A gentle, all-ages comic from Norwegian publisher Cappelen, Yakari (1988–1989) ran for four issues and follows the adventures of a young Sioux boy who can speak with animals. Written by Job and Marianne Brodtkorb with art by the acclaimed Derib, the series offers warm, lightly educational stories rooted in Native American life and nature. Its quiet charm and respectful portrayal of its setting make it a fondly remembered entry in European children's comics.
