About the series
In the late 1980s, Eclipse Comics and Viz Media brought the manga-inspired sci-fi saga Xenon to American readers, a 23-issue series blending post-apocalyptic martial arts with cyberpunk aesthetics. Written primarily by Fred Burke, Masaomi Kanzaki, and Satoru Fujii, with art by Kanzaki and Wayne Truman, the story follows a lone warrior navigating a desolate future where technology and combat are intertwined. It stands as a notable early crossover between Japanese and American comics, helping to bridge the gap for translated manga in the U.S. market.
