About the series
In the aftermath of the original Valiant universe, X-O Manowar (1992–1996) followed Aric of Dacia, a fifth-century Visigoth warrior who bonds with an alien sentient armor, thrusting him into a modern world of corporate intrigue and cosmic threats. Published under both Valiant and later Acclaim, the series was a cornerstone of the publisher's superhero line, driven by the storytelling of Bob Layton, Keith Giffen, and Jorge González, with visceral artwork from Rik Levins, Bart Sears, and Andy Smith.
