About the series
In 2003, Marvel tapped writer J. Torres and artists Makoto and Hiromi Nakatsuka for X-Men: Ronin, a five-issue miniseries that reimagines classic X-Men lore through the lens of feudal Japanese storytelling. Blending mutant powers with samurai and ronin archetypes, the book transplants familiar characters into a historical setting where honor and clan loyalty clash with the fear of the unknown. Its distinctive manga-influenced art and cross-cultural premise made it a unique, if brief, experiment in the X-Men franchise.
