About the series
In the early 1970s, Marvel launched Worlds Unknown, an eight-issue science fiction anthology series that adapted classic stories from the pages of Amazing Stories. Helmed by a rotating team of top-tier writers including Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, and Len Wein, with art from the likes of George Tuska, John Romita, and Ross Andru, the series offered a showcase for imaginative, standalone tales of wonder and technology. Though brief, it stands as a fascinating snapshot of Marvel’s mid-70s attempt to bring literary sci-fi to the comic-book audience.
