Written by Stuart Moore with moody, ink-washed art by C. P. Smith, this 2009 mini-series from Marvel strips Wolverine of his superhuman healing and adamantium, grounding him in a pulp-noir world of speakeasies and betrayal. It’s a stylish, standalone experiment that proves the character works just as well in a trench coat as he does in a costume.
