About the series
In 2000, Image Comics launched Witchblade Preview, a single-issue sampler that introduced readers to the supernatural crime-fighting world of NYPD detective Sara Pezzini and her mystical, sentient weapon. Written by Paul Jenkins and Rick Veitch with art by Keu Cha, this preview offered a concentrated taste of the series' dark, urban fantasy tone and its blend of noir detective work with cosmic horror. Though brief, it served as an accessible entry point into one of Image's most enduring creator-owned franchises, setting the stage for the long-running Witchblade series that followed.
