Widdershins

In 2011, cartoonist Kate Ashwin launched Widdershins, a long-running webcomic that blends historical fantasy with a queer-normative, found-family adventure. Set in a magical alternate version of the 1920s, the story follows a cast of colorful characters navigating mysteries, romance, and the supernatural in the seaside town of Widdershins. Over its decade-plus run, Ashwin’s warm, detailed art and character-driven storytelling have made the series a beloved staple of independent webcomics.
