Dean Hsieh’s short-lived, self-contained series for Antarctic Press, Westside (2000–present, three issues), brought a gritty, noir-inflected sensibility to the publisher’s typically action-heavy lineup. With Hsieh handling both writing and art alongside Eric Satrum, the comic carved out a small but distinctive space for moody, character-driven storytelling.
