Western Stars Comic

From 1954 to 1958, British publisher L. Miller & Son brought the American frontier to U.K. newsstands with Western Stars Comic, a 17-issue series that delivered rugged cowboy tales and showdowns. The book was most consistently illustrated by artists Carl Pfeufer and Pete Riss, whose dynamic, dust-choked panels gave the Old West a gritty, pulp-inspired energy. While it never reached the iconic heights of its U.S. counterparts, this short-lived run stands as a charming artifact of mid-century British comics publishing, offering a transatlantic take on the genre.
