Western Comics

From 1948, National Comics Publications of Canada Ltd. presented Western Comics, a nine-issue series that rode the frontier with tales of cowboys, outlaws, and rugged adventure. Writer John Osgood and artists Howard Sherman, John Lehti, and Raymond Perry were the primary creative team, bringing a distinctly Canadian flavor to the Western genre. Though brief, the series stands as a notable artifact of post-war Canadian comics publishing, showcasing the country’s homegrown talent in a genre dominated by American imports.
