Morrie Turner's Wee Pals, published by New American Library from 1969 to 1972, brought a gentle, groundbreaking vision to comics with its two issues. As the first syndicated strip to feature a truly integrated cast of children, Turner's creation quietly normalized diversity through the everyday adventures of a multiracial group of friends.
