About the series
In the short-lived but ambitious Defiant line, Warriors of Plasm (1993–1994) ran for 13 issues, spinning a science-fantasy saga of warring alien factions and their superpowered champions. Conceived by Jim Shooter, the series was defined by the kinetic, expressive artwork of David Lapham, who also co-wrote alongside Pauline Weiss. Its most distinctive feature was the use of "chromium" covers, giving each issue a metallic, reflective finish that made the cosmic battles pop on newsstands. Though brief, the series remains a cult touchstone for its bold visual experimentation and the creative energy of its post-Valiant talent.
