About the series
In the mid-2000s, writer Mark Millar and artist J. G. Jones turned the supervillain origin story inside out with Wanted, a six-issue Image Comics series that asks: what if the world's greatest criminals secretly won, and now run everything? The story follows a downtrodden office worker who discovers his true lineage as the son of a legendary assassin, pulling him into a secret society of costumed killers who have erased all memory of their existence. With brutal, kinetic art by Jones and finishes by Dick Giordano, Wanted stands as a cynical, violent deconstruction of the superhero genre that helped define the edgy, blockbuster tone of 2000s comics.
