About the series
In this concise two-volume series from French publisher Kurokawa, Waltz follows a young woman who, after a car accident, discovers she can see the life spans of those around her as floating numbers. Written and drawn by artist Kiyohiko Azuma, best known for Azumanga Daioh, this 2012–2013 comic shifts from his trademark comedy to a quiet, melancholic exploration of mortality and human connection. Its six issues offer a thoughtful, character-driven meditation on the weight of knowing how much time remains.
