Viz Comic

Launched in 1987 by Dennis Publishing, Viz Comic is a British anthology series that parodies the conventions of traditional comics with its crude, satirical humor and grotesque, working-class characters. Running for only five issues, this predecessor to the long-running Viz magazine established the bawdy, irreverent tone that would define the brand, featuring the earliest appearances of iconic strips like "The Fat Slags" and "Roger Mellie." Though short-lived as a comic, it remains a key artifact of British counterculture, showcasing the raw, unpolished style of its creators before the series evolved into a celebrated adult magazine.
