From 1985 to 1992, Carlsen Comics brought together two generations of European adventure storytelling in Valhardi & Co., Abenteurer, a 15-issue series reprinting the exploits of Jean-Michel Charlier and Jijé's rugged hero, Valhardi—a globe-trotting troubleshooter whose 1950s and 1960s adventures blended fast-paced action with a strong sense of justice. Later issues expanded the scope with new stories by German writers Klaus Strzyz and Isabel Winkowski, paired with the clean, dynamic art of Eddy Paape, keeping the series alive for a modern audience.
