Usagi Yojimbo

In 1996, Carlsen Comics brought Stan Sakai's iconic ronin rabbit to German audiences with a six-issue run of Usagi Yojimbo. Scripted by Jens R. Nielsen and illustrated by Sakai himself, this series presented the wandering samurai's adventures in a new language while preserving the detailed, Eisner-nominated artwork and Edo-period storytelling that made the character a beloved fixture of independent comics. It stands as a notable early example of Sakai's work being translated and localized for European readers.
