About the series
From 1987 to 1993, Comics USA’s USA magazine bridged American and European comic sensibilities across 34 issues, featuring a mix of original series and licensed icons. The anthology is most noted for Jerome Charyn and Massimiliano Frezzato’s occult detective Abraham Stone, alongside contributions from Alan Moore, Richard Corben, and Brian Bolland. Its eclectic roster also included Batman, Judge Dredd, and the Joker, placing creator-driven work alongside mainstream heroes. A distinctive, short-lived experiment, it captured a transitional moment in late-80s comics publishing.
