Unlovable

From 2003 to 2006, Esther Pearl Watson wrote and drew all three issues of Unlovable, a raw, autobiographical comic series published by Alternative Comics. The book chronicles Watson's own teenage years in 1980s Texas with unflinching honesty, capturing the awkwardness, rebellion, and small triumphs of growing up as an outsider. Its scrappy, hand-drawn art style and deeply personal voice made it a quietly influential work in the early 2000s alternative comics scene.
